a rickety bridge of impossible crossing

pride & persecution

Whoa nelly, yesterday's essay was a dilly of a whopper of a whale of a post, huh? 3700 words. Not the trash I said I was going to use this blog for, but that's okay

I'm going to start using tags more to categorize posts a little more sensibly. I don't wanna go nuts and start tagging every noun featured in an entry to help people find more posts about that noun, but I can at least make it easier for readers to pick what type of post they want from the content buffet

This entry will be a new category I'm calling "status", which is just a quick impression of how I feel and what I'm up to. This is to differentiate it from "shorts", which is for short jokes or observations. Status updates will also be indicated with a watch emoji in the post title. Why a watch? Cause it looks cooler than the clock emoji

I'm proud of that entry. I'm not even going to pretend I wrote it on my phone—I got the bones of it down on Friday, but the bulk of the writing and construction was done at home over the weekend. I think the end result is exactly what I was going for—a good thesis statement, multiple easily digestible points, not too technical, interesting but also funny. I wish I could make every post that polished

My happiness with my work is tempered by some sad personal developments I'm still processing, and some fucking infuriating US political news

I won't dump all the outrage and hurt and fear I'm feeling because other people have said it better than I can but I'll leave this here for anyone who needs it: https://abortionpillinfo.org

Everyone stay safe. Let's take care of each other like our lives depend on it, because they do 🦝
